Spicer, who helped start Maps.com in 1991, (then Magellan Geographix) brings with him a wealth of more than 20 years of experience from map companies in the USA & Australia, in the various roles. He also launched a publishing company, and this entrepreneurial spirit was a key factor in his appointment.

Spicer is a former Geography graduate from the University of Oregon. He also served on the Board of Directors for the International Map Trade Association (IMTA) from 2000-2004, and was President of IMTA in 2003.
